This wonderful fund raising drive kicks off in Lightning Ridge on September 7 and travels through Bourke, Louth, Tilpa, White Cliffs, Broken Hill, Eldee Station, Menindee, Pooncarie, Mildura and ends in Tocumwal on September 14.

All funds raised go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia to fund research into prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment. Last years event raised $200,000!!

How do I know all this?
Cause I'm in it.

Thanks Michael O, yes a great cause indeed.

I've been fighting Prostate Cancer for 12 plus years, if it had not been for a successful Harvard University trial for aggressive PC, I would now be planted in the marble orchard.
I'm on my third remission and in the latest round I'm ahead on points although the PSA is starting to rise again.

Some data
• More men die of prostate cancer each year than women do of breast cancer
• 1 in 5 males risk developing prostate cancer by age 85
• Its the most common internal cancer in Australian men
• More than 3,100 Australian men die from it each year
• It was responsible for 13% of all cancer deaths in Australia
• Its the second leading cause of death in Australian males
• Deaths from PC have increased from 2,711 in 2001 to 3,102 in 2014

Folks, please support Prostate Cancer research.

Good on you Michael O

I endorse Phil B's comments...please support Prostate Cancer research....you never know when it may raise its ugly head out of the blue as mine did

I couldn't talk about it for some time whilst I dealt with it however now I am more inclined to speak out in the hope it will encourage others to be more aware and not complacent.

I am a survivor of prostate C...but the issue never leaves me.....the annual PSA test is always an apprehensive period as the time approaches for the test.....
