Very close friend of mine owns one.
Needs sound deadening and the air con in summer doesnt work.
It sometimes overheats with it on
Fuel economy around 25lltrs per hundred
And did the gearbox upgrade to get the revs down and get decent highway speed

Headlights are crap.
And you physical cannot lock the cab up
No key
Never drove it but was a passenger in it around broome wa

Like many ultra serious off road vehicles thats their forte. The trade off is everything else.

Yes, optimised for off road, lousy everywhere else.

I have some mates that were army driving instructors; you wouldn't believe where they could make one of these things go until they pushed their luck too far.
Out the back of Townsville in the wet and they got a convoy bogged.

With tyres that big and portal axles, when you get bogged you're really in it. 3 days to go about 500m. They got a chopper ride home and had to wait 2 weeks for the ground to dry enough to have another go at getting them out again.

They're only as good as their tyres. Get the tyre lugs clogged with mud, and they spin uselessly, just like every other 4WD.

The portal axle is great for clearance, but when they go down, they take just as much getting out, as anything else.

This bloke is making the serious mistake of placing his thumbs inside the steering wheel rim - a guaranteed way to get broken thumbs, in extreme 4WD-ing.

Cheers, Ron.
