Light weight camper

As most of these trailers are made in china, I'd be wary of any that claim to be a lot lighter than the others.
As with any camper, I'd be more concerned with drive away weight ?

Incorrect weights on compliance plates aren’t restricted to Chinese campers, it is endemic in our local industry & should be investigated.

Yes. All all valid points. I wont be doing any specific 4wd tracks with the camper. Rough 2wd dirt roads at worst.

Join the owners groups of each on FB. I’d be comparing with a mob like MDC who build their own in their own factories over there and here. The two you mentioned buy on the open market from 3rd party manufacturers. Compare things like fittings, stoves, elec componentry, chassis, lining material, canvas quality etc.
I have a Chinese camper and the weights are accurate, but as stated above, ‘lightweight’ is not how I would describe it. Mine will hit 2 t all told with the tinny and motor.

I inspected the Stirling Z on the weekend and was happy with it so bought it. Drive away with 12 months reg and a 60 litre fiberglass Evercool fridge for 14.5k. Time will tell if I have made the right decision I suppose!

Tare at over 1000kg? Lightweight?

The caravan/camper world has changed no doubt due to 4x4 towing capacities. The creeping up of such capacities means to some- "I can tow more so I will".

Doesnt really make sense to me but I'm not criticizing buyers just the trend.
Ive built my own tar only caravan 730kg tare with full ensuite 16ft with steel frame and lightweight materials yet manufacturers vans would weight twice that.
The people that own vans with atm of 3500kg and a tug with top capacity of the same weight maxxing it all out - why?. Plenty of comfy vans weighing 2500kg atm.

It must be me and my bad hair day lol
