Come August we're looking at exploring the Sunshine Coast Hinterland for a few days in the new camper trailer and am interested in advice on the places we shouldn't miss and favourite campsites up that way. (Should be good to escape Victoria winter again). Thanks in advance for suggestions and comments.

The pomona show ground is a good base for day trips on the coastal strip, think its free.

Go climb Mt Coolum, visit Kondalilla Falls or Gardner Falls or Booloumba Falls or Wappa Falls or even Buderim Forest Waterfall. You can camp where they hold the Gympie Muster at Amamoor Creek, or at Kenilworth at Charlie Moreland or Yabba Creek campgrounds. There’s also a few decent youcamp properties about the area also to choose from.

Hi, we have a place never offered before, our property Waterfall Retreat (you can find us on facebook). You can camp in our cow paddock surrounded by rainforest with sole use of the private waterfall. $150/night min 3 nights. It is 10mins out of Yandina Qld.

Leon K3, without wanting to offend, what do I get for $150 per night?

70 acres to yourself in pristine rainforest and private 12 mtr waterfall with 20mtr deep waterhole. I understand it's not really for the budget traveller, more suited for those that don't want to camp with other people's kids and dogs, not that there's anything wrong with any of that.

Hi qldcamper, at this stage only fresh water.
We set up a site on youcamp.com yesterday and amended the prices, here's the link.

A little further afield, but the caravan park at Imbil, around 20km inland from Gympie, is a great spot on the river in a lovely little town, and a good base to explore the local area.
