Hi
My old Samsung tab 8 retired so I bought a Samsung Tab S4.
I downloaded all my maps across. MM , Vic maps and Hema. I had the free Austopo 250K map working for about 3 days after I down loaded the maps from old tab and then after fiddling with downloading the Hema maps Austopo has vanished.
I emailed MM and they said (The AusTopo250 map is no longer available for download from the server and has not been for some time. Any portion that was already downloaded should still be available, but new portions would not be able to download ).
I take it I should still be able to use Austopo ? I quite like Austopo so would like to know where my download has gone. Any ideas Please.
Also what other 250K maps would be the equivalent now. ?
Regards Lachie

Had something similar. I went to application manager and reinstalled mm from there. Got the 250 map back. Don't really know where from. This was when I got a new phone and after I had tried to reinstall from mm

I know this is Off Post ,
but with the Tab 8 not going ...
Carefully take the back off, it's like a banana skin and not glued on like apple stuff,(U tube it ) disconnect the battery where it forms a bridge in the middle of the computer.

Leave it off for about an hour, reconnect and usually the Tab 8 comes back to life.

All your programs etc are still loaded

Did try that. Even tried the battery in the deep freeze . Have woken batteries up before but no luck.

Maps are usually in a downloads/DMS folder - can check the internal memory as well as a SD card if you have it. If it's there and MM can't find it perhaps try opening one of the files with a file explorer. If you're in Sydney I can help you out...

Live near Geelong now. Tried that folder. Even downloaded the Astro file manager which is recommended in the MM self help line.
Thanks for your offer of help if I was nearer.

Hi Peter
Unfortunately I am not a member so can't track you down.
Interestingly on my lap top today when I looked at the MM Austopo250 it started to black itself out in big black squares. Austopo has been on there for years.

Hi All,
Yes, the withdrawal of the AusTopo maps is very disappointing. Not sure why it was done but it is all to do with GeoScience Australia. You can read the information for yourself at,
http://www.ga.gov.au/scientific-topics/national-location-information/topographic-maps-data/digital-topographic-maps
Apparently the maps are still available for download at this site.

Hi Robert
If you downloaded AusTopo250 from the above site could all you tracks and way points be moved to it. Or should I say could the new Austopo map be down loaded into MM ?

On that matter if I download EoTopo through another means than through MM can I copy my tracks and way points across from MM to the new maps ?

Hi Lachie
The issue is that the download of the full Australian map is 2.9gb, however it is in the .ecw format which MemoryMap does not read. The GeoScience site is not very user friendly with a number of links not functioning. I am investigating further but not overly hopeful. Let me know if you find out any more details.

Bought the Hema 4WD Maps 2018/2019 Update with Topo 250 for $75.
Seems to be the nearly the same as AusTop250.
