Leon and Diane were 2 of the main organisers of the joining of the rails centenary at Ooldea in October last year.
And he plays a mean guitar too....

Leon and Diane took us on an excellent guided tour around Maralinga in 2007 - needed permission from Canberra back then. Ran into them again 2 years ago when they were relieving at Cook. Great couple.

In the years that Leon and Diane were caretakers at Maralinga they spent a lot of time researching the history of both the Maralinga bomb sites and Len Beadell's involvement with the site.

The intimate knowledge they have of the area is irreplaceable, but through politics of the site I fear this knowledge will be lost forever.

We were lucky to be shown by Leon, among other things, the air strip where Len Beadell had his supplies dropped and also a drum that had clearly been dropped from a Aircraft in that area.

Cheers
Graham

Great bloke Leon, lets hope he gets back there one day. I have done the tour with Robin a few times, but would really like to be able to do it with Leon. Maybe one day.
