Found this - thought I would share just in case others have some interest - a short and sweet guide to some common desert plants

Cheers

Thanks Greg

There aren't many plant guides for this area.

I use a book by Phil Moore, please are there any others?

Phil,

Two publications that may be useful, to some extent, are:

A Field Guide to Plants of the Channel Country by Rhondda Alexander
No longer in print but you could score a copy on eBay, a friend did some weeks ago.

Trees and Shrubs of North West Queensland by Jenny Milson. Not sure of its availability at this time?

Good to meet you at Desert Queen Baths last month, with Les, Joe et al.

Can't remember most of it.

Hello Phil

I am not aware of any other books off the top of my head. I am more of an animal person so don't look at the plants as much as I should but I know a few botanist types, so will ask around.

Cheers
Greg

Thanks for that Greg. I got a very good book from the Mulan Community a couple of years back which was produced by the community and has all the plants and animals of the region. Gives their local language name plus the European and botanical names. See it's at home and I'm at work I can't tell you the name right now.

Cheers

Another book is "Shrubs and Trees of the Great Victoria Desert" also out of print but a bit of searching may dig up a copy.

These two are the best books and most relevant to the CSR.
Walmajarri Plants and Animals by Mulan Community. Available in Mulan and Billiluna Stores. This one is the best for Walmajarri Country (northern CSR), but also very useful for the rest of the CSR.
Bushfires and Bushtucker by Peter Latz - This one is the best for Martu Country, although its home is Central Desert.

Thank you for the PDF link. Always like to read new reference material CSR related.
