Airbag recall

Not sure what you find very interesting but here's some info -

Honda claims that sensors in the front forks can detect a severe frontal collision and decide when to deploy the airbag, absorbing some of the forward energy of the rider and reducing the velocity at which the rider may be thrown from the motorcycle.

The 3 Honda's are all GL1800's just different years and models - the air bags are an optional extra I believe !

Be interesting to see what happens to the rider when they activate Muzbry.
Believe they come with two ashtrays as well.

Very simple Muzbry, if the bike has airbags and they are Takata then they will be subject to recall because of the degradation fault. Straightforward and uninteresting I think.

are you just surprised they have airbags?

I remember the brother and I examining one of the monstrous Goldwings and talking to the owner, at the Widgiemooltha Roadhouse in the early 1980's.

He delighted in showing us all the features, like a salesman, as a proud owner - things such as the shaver power outlet inside the top "trunk", the huge amount of storage area, the "surround sound system" - and most importantly - the "flow-through" ventilation!!

Yes, it had adjustable vents in the fairing around the handlebars, that guided fresh air onto any area you so desired!

This was not so long after "flow-through ventilation" had become a big selling feature of the new Holdens and Falcons!
Air conditioning was still only being fitted to half the cars in that era, though! LOL

I don't know what good an airbag would be on a bike, though - most motorcyclists are thrown from the bike, as soon as they lose control.
