Happy Camper is a great option for non refrigerated food. They used to make delicious Lamb Shanks, the Red Wine ones in particular were delicious.

I know they were sold by the Treasure family late last year. I see that Happy Camper don't do Lamb Shanks any more. Does anyone know if they have plans to bring them back?

They were a highlight after a few weeks when the fresh food had run out.

I was checking out their products last year Boobook, prior to some Simpson trips, and also noticed that Lamb Shanks were off the menu. There was a highlighted note to say that due to the high price of "lamb" at that time, they were unable to produce that item profitably. Or words to that affect.

Keen to try some of the others this year. Think the curry was off the menu at the time too.

Tony, I believe they are coming back, at least that's the information I was given by the new owners at a recent 4x4 show in Melbourne.

I am sitting on a bucket of them at the moment. I found them an excellent menu item when out on the quad expeditions. I would heat them in the billy, then use the water to mix up deb (It's better than I ever remember it being back in the 80's!) potato and a tin of vegies. A hearty meal at the end of a big day traversing the desert.

They have a couple of new options, the Lamb and mushroom gnocchi is a particular favourite.

Have you emailed them to make enquiries at all?

Regards and all the best for 2018.

Mick
