This is Part 1 and 2 (3 still coming) of our April 2018 trip to the north of Western Australia and the Norther Territory. The goal was to travel the old, little used and unpaved Duncan cattle track that winds from Halls Creek, behind the Bungle Bungles and into the Norther Territory before ending up near the Keep River National Park. We travelled 7000km in just over 2 weeks towing Lucy Q4. The Western Kimberley had been hit by 3 cyclones in quick succession severely flooding and damaging most roads. When we arrived most were open however swampy mossie ridden conditions remained in the West whilst in the East it was dry and baking with daytime temperatures hovering around the mid 40 degrees celsius! check out our Northern white sand beaches starkly contracted against the red cliffs and rocks. We saw the real deal in cowboyish NT stockmen on horses mustering their mobs....refreshing freshwater springs surrounded by ferns and palms.. stunning gorges in the middle of nowhere.....the remote Pilbara and Kimberley regions of Australia are indeed the most spectacular jewels of this country.....
